Why do I want the insurance to have everyone who has a home number
A common injury can change life, as I think about protecting income, health assessments and insurance amounts depending on the situation of the family.
The client slipped on the ice. A simple winter day, a journey she walks on. Three operations later have disability, problems with the backgrounds, can not lift anything heavy and in the industry she did can no longer work. She remained simple work and pleasant, which is connected to it.
Another client, a businessman, went with his son to drop the dragon. He got his foot in the mud, sat down and broke his tibia. Year of disability, then disability.
Not one of them planned it, and not one of them did anything dangerous. That's the point. When people talk about insurance, they imagine extremes of mountains, motorbike, risks that man chose. In 13 years in the business, I saw most of the transactions from very ordinary situations.
This text is all about what you can do about it before: why it depends on the order in which things are handled, and how I choose individual amounts when I'm building a contract for a client.
What will therapy do in the health questionnaire
Psychic problems are much more common today than ex-boyfriends, and it's very common for a man and a woman to go to a therapist or a psychologist. I consider it good news and good decision.
When negotiating insurance, it is important to answer truthfully the questions about health status, treatment and medication. The insurance company assesses the specific diagnosis, its course and its conditions. Some risks can be limited, set exclusions or surpluses, or propose other conditions. A therapist's visit alone does not automatically mean the same exclusions for all insurance companies.
The exclusion must be read according to the exact wording of the specific contract. Mental and neurological diseases are not the same categories: Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis cannot generally be classified as mental illness. Whether a diagnosis is covered depends on the definition of risk, exclusions and health assessments.
The result is that a person has insurance, pays for it, and it is not covered where it can be the most expensive.
For some contracts, a new assessment may be requested when the health status is changed. The possibility of reviewing the exclusion, the required time from treatment and the result depends on the insurance company and the specific situation; there is no general guarantee of cancelling the lockout after ten years.
I'm saying this because it's not a reason not to go to a therapist because that would be the worst possible advice. It's a reason to deal with insurance before you start needing it. Conditions are decided when you sign, not when you fill it.
How do I choose individual amounts?
The worst contracts I see are not expensive ones. They are the ones where the amounts were collected according to the price that came out, not the one that would happen with a particular family. Every risk is solved by something else and each has its own logic.
| Risk | By which I choose the amount |
|---|---|
| Invalidity | According to the income drop and what needs to continue to happen: repayment, household operation, children |
| Severe diseases | So that the amount will also pay other than standard treatment for better drugs and more gentle procedure |
| Incapacity to work | Temporary loss of income; invalidity is assessed separately, does not start automatically after a year |
| Permanent consequences of the accident | According to the specific valuation table, the extent of the consequences and progressions; model 1 % is not a general rule for a debossed tooth |
| Daily compensation | Just more severe injuries to fractures and stables that require surgery. |
| Hospital services | According to the needs of the family; pregnancy, childbirth and escort of the child only to the extent of a specific contract |
It's not about the disability that keeps someone safe forever, it's about covering up the difference between what you've earned and what you have left.
The standard treatment is covered, but there are medicines and procedures that are more friendly to the body and are not paid for. The insurance amount is to give the family an option.
In the case of incapacity for work, I deal with it as a bridge through temporary leave, not as a replacement for long-term protection. The sickness is usually provided for no more than 380 calendar days, any extension has its own conditions. Invalidity after a year does not take place automatically: the admission depends on a separate assessment and compliance with legal conditions. In addition, the disability depends on voluntary participation and insurance history.
In the case of permanent consequences, I use a simple model to explain: if a particular valuation table would result in 1 % and the insurance amount would be a million crowns, the basic performance would be based on ten thousand crowns. But it is not true that every tooth knocked out automatically means 1.
If she is a young woman, she is likely to be planning a family with her partner. Risk pregnancies, days before and after childbirth are all days in the hospital. And when a child is born and within seven years something happens to her, one of the parents is in the hospital, the mother most often. For some insurance companies, hospitalization is also valid in case of accompanying the child.
Death insurance: how many people are standing on your income
This is the amount that people imagine the worst because it's about something that they don't like to think about. I'm just counting it as a monthly income times twelve, which gives me a year of pleasure, and then I multiply by how many people are dependent on that income.
For a family with two children, double or triple the annual income can be one of the orientation scenarios for a conversation, not the universal recommended amount. It is necessary to take into account debt, reserves, income of the second parent and the length of dependency of the children. The purpose is to buy time to cope with situations and quiet decision-making; any investment has its own risks and does not guarantee regular pleasures.
The difference between a family that gets a year's pleasure, and a family that gets three is not in the amount. It's in this, if they have to make a quick decision to sell the apartment, change the school, move or make a decision in peace.
When there's a mortgage in play
Once a person has obligations, there is one more layer to that amount. For a mortgage, I deal with third-degree disability, i.e. full disability, serious illness and death, falling insurance amounts, which copy the amount of outstanding credit.
Ideally anuitfully, so that the amount falls at the same pace as the principal at the given interest rate. Linear descent, which is often offered instead, is faster than debt, and in the first years a hole is created just where the balance is highest.
The reason is simple. At a time when a person is fully disabled or has a serious diagnosis, the last thing he wants to do is figure out if he's on payment. This part of the contract is not about property. It's about making sure that the family doesn't have to move in the same year that they deal with treatment.
When to deal with it
I recommend to everyone the same moment: once you have a stable job. Not a brigade, not an uncertain season, but a pleasant one, from which you can afford to pay your premiums every month. At that time, one is usually the healthiest, has the smallest medical documentation and the most opportunities to build a contract.
The paradox is that it looks the most useless at the time. A person is thirty, has no pain, and insurance acts as an expense that can wait. But when they no longer seem useless, they are late. Either the exclusions appear, or the insurance company does not close the contract.
I know that a lot of people see insurance as something that doesn't work or as something that affects someone else. I want it to be for everyone who has a child and adults. Not because it's a product. Because when something happens, it's always about the same thing: that there is a means for someone to take care of a person, and that it is not a liquidator for the family.
Slipping on ice and letting the dragon go is not a plan. It's only possible to plan what will apply at the moment that they come to it.
